Beeks Place – Silverado Canyon / Blackstar Santa Ana Mountains, CA

Back at the trail head at Black Star Canyon. Take the fire trail up to Main Divide and make a right

Beeks Place – Located approximately 8 miles from the Black star Canyon trailhead is the location where the ruins of a vacation home resides. As you climb for approximately 8 miles on Black Star Canyon fire road, you will come to a fork in the road. This is Main Divide Truck Trail. Take a right and shortly up the trail you will see the ruins of an old vacation home. At that location, one side you can see Corona, CA. The other you can see all the way to the ocean on a clear day passed the rolling hills you just road up. Rest there and head back or continue up the trail a little more ways to go to the KSOX Doppler Radar Tower.

Make sure you bring plenty of water, snakes, tools, and other supplies. There is no water and no restrooms.

this is a great trail for conditioning. The difficult part is it is 8 miles up. The fact is it is doable for many levels from young, old, beginner to advanced. It can seem daunting to ride 8 miles uphill. However, I have seen people on big wheeled scooters along with people that have full pro gear and pro bikes. Of course everything in between.

What goes up, must come down. Once you rest bit, check out Beeks Place and enjoy the scenario, some laughs and group and selfies. The way back is 90% downhill. Watch your speed though, there are hikers, bikers, walkers and talkers on this trail. It does not get overly crowded from my experience once you get passed Black Star Falls or the old Tongva-Gabrielino Indian settlement, any people congestion thins quite a bit to only the diehard hikers.

This ride can be done anywhere from 1.5 hours to 5 hours, depending on your condition, how long you take to explore, etc. Again, go prepared.
